“Full of subdued blues, yellows, and oranges, Dunnett’s artwork captures the hazy scrapbook feel of memories, honoring Gricelda’s story and its nightmarish cadence. A confident chronicle from a young voice at the margins.”

The videos cover her own experiences crossing the Mexico-U.S. border and living in the United States, as well as her thoughts on how the immigration experience today differs from when she first arrived almost three decades ago.

The craigslist brand is acclaimed by many for its purely functional interface design. However, over the years the site has developed a reputation among many users for being untrustworthy and frequented by scammers. In this project I aimed to find a balance between updating the website’s aesthetics to make it comparable with reputable websites while still maintaining the brand’s authenticity.
I created colourful illustrations and a simple, straightforward layout to maintain the site’s approachability. To preserve brand authenticity, I kept the craigslist blue and purple colour palette and used the original wordmark and signature peace sign motif throughout the site.

Freedom from Hunger is an organization that offers micro-loans and education as a way to fight food insecurity in developing countries. This illustration shows their positive effects on these communities.
The robust corn plant represents the growth and abundance resulting from properly managed micro-loans. Corn is a staple crop in Latin America and Africa, where Freedom from Hunger does most of its work. The corn’s hand-shaped roots receive the loan, and as the plant flourishes, the money to pay back the loan emerges from the corncob. The plant continues to thrive beyond this repayment point, symbolizing freedom from food insecurity.
